Friar’s Corner: Protected in God’s radiant glory

The Friar's Corner

Samuel 16:1b, 6-7, 10-13a; Psalm 23:1-6; Ephesians 5:8-14; John 9:1-41

Come, Holy Spirit, come!
And from Your clear celestial home,
Shed a ray of light divine.

Come, Father of Your poor ones!
Come source of all our store!
Come, within our being shine!
You of comforters the best;
You, our most welcome guest;
Sweet refreshment on us all.

Come, Light of God’s own glory!
Seal and protect us and our family,
in a protective home of Your glory!
Deliver us, Lord, from every evil,
especially the Coronavirus
and all its effects.

Grant us peace in our days.
In your merciful love,
keep us free from sin and all viruses
and protect us from all our fears,
anxieties and worries,
as we wait in joyful hope
for the second coming
of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

There is much I could say about the readings this weekend. As I have been praying about these readings and all of you who are reading this, this is my prayer for all of you. I pray Jesus would heal the eyes of your mind and heart to have complete confidence in His love for you and yours.

Since public Masses are closed to the faithful to prevent thousands from contracting and spreading this virus by breathing it in, there are many ways to pray and receive more of God’s divine power.

Receive divine power

1-  Some dioceses are providing outside communion stations and in other places, some priests are hearing confessions from their cars in a parking lot.

2-  In some places, if you are truly sorry for your sin, priests are allowed to give general absolution under certain conditions, as Pope Francis has announced from Rome.

3-  Daily Mass is broadcast three times a day on EWTN at 6 a.m., noon and, I think, 6 p.m. Some churches, monasteries and universities and “live streaming“ daily Masses.

4-  You can prayerfully read your New Testament, especially the “I AM statements” in St. John’s gospel and the Bible.

5-  You can pray many Chaplets of Divine Mercy each day and your rosaries.

6-  You can visit a local Catholic, Byzantine or Orthodox church since they are ancient churches with the real presence of Jesus in their tabernacles since they are fall in line with apostolic succession. Sit near the tabernacle and tell God how much you love Our Father, Jesus and Their Holy Spirit.

7- Dr. Scott Hahn out in Steubenville, Ohio, is offering many wonderful helps on his web site at St. Paul Center.com/hub which he calls Quarantined Catholic/hub.

8-  You can also check out zenit.org/

I shall continue to pray against this latest demonic attack on our human race as we pray together in these days. Follow the precautions our national and local government organizations are recommending. Pray, pray and pray as Mother Mary keeps begging us to do with her many apparitions in Medjugorje, view MaryTV. Be safe in the protective dome of God’s glory.
