Featured for Lent: two inspiring devotionals

Last Lent, after browsing Cultivating Gods Garden through Lent, by my dear friend, Margaret Rose Realy, I knew I had to share it. We featured my favorite meditations as a series of excerpts during Lent last year. You can read these posts or even better get your own copy to keep handy during Lent. It’s available at Patheos, http://bit.ly/1iBPxTm, and Amazon, http://amzn.to/1l6clw2.

I met Margaret at the Catholic Writers Guild Live Conference in 2012 and enjoyed getting to know her even better as we worked together at the 2013 conference. She is an Advanced Master Gardener with over thirty-five years experience in the green industry and leads workshops and retreats. She is the coordinator of the St. Francis Retreat Center Garden Society, a monthly columnist at CatholicMom.com and blogs about gardening and spirituality at Patheos.com. Cultivating God’s Garden through Lent was awarded the Catholic Writers Guild Seal of Approval.

Coming March 5

This Lent JoyAlive is featuring excerpts from Reconciled to God by Amy Welborn, beginning March 5. From what I have read so far, these meditations promise another great Lenten experience.

Amy Welborn has written books about saints, about prayer and history.  Her books are written for a variety of audiences: Younger children, teenagers and adults.  Many of her books are used in classrooms in schools and parishes.

She writes columns and articles for the Catholic press, and has been published in The New York Times, Commonweal, Liguorian, First Things,  Catholic News Service and Our Sunday Visitor.

Creative Communications, Franciscan Media, Loyola Press, Our Sunday Visitor, Word Among Us Press and Doubleday publish Amy’s books.  She writes a bimonthly column for Headline Bistro, the Knights of Columbus Internet portal.
